Montana F & G New Part-time Job w/pics

Hello Backcountry Pilots,
Just started a new part-time job flying for the Montana Fish & Wildlife. Attached are some pictures I took this week. We took the wolf pictures with a cell phone camera (no zoom) just SE of Helena. Check out the picture of the grey wolf jumping the fence like it wasn't even there. A friend of mine shot a legal wolf near Lincoln, Montana on Saturday.

Congrats on the new job. If I had it to do all over again, fish and game would be my dream job! Nice shot of the wolf jumping the fence too :D

With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

Way to go James! If you get up in this neck of the woods, stop in! Hanson (pvt) on the GF sectional. If you're around the F&G aviation dept, you'll probably run into a warden named Perry Brown up here in Kalispell... he stood up with me at my wedding...great guy!

Way to go Super Maule! Only requirement is that you take us for the occasional ride again with more pictures. I suppose with a job like that you have to be careful what you post. It's like facebook for pilots.

Dirtstrip,
I had to get in low and close with the helicopter on the wolves we spotted near Townsend, Montana to check for collars. None of this pack was collared, and the local F & G biologist wasn't aware of any wolves in the Elkhorn Mountains south of Helena. Helicopters are excellent for this type of operation. The State also has Super-Cubs for game surveys, but a cub can't compare with a helicopter's maneuverability.
Anyway I'm having a great time even if just on a part-time basis. Found a lot of ridgelines to land the "super-maule" on skis too. Its sure nice to survey a off-field landing site for the Maule with a helicopter first.
