Moose Lake 3rd Annual Fly In 12/16/23

The third annual fly in has been scheduled for 12/16/23. Current ice conditions are 7 inches with minor snow. Last years poster is attached. Coordinates are on the attachment.

Just heard from Bill there is currently 9” of ice on Moose Lake. Unfortunately I’ll not make it this year, someone has to chase late season Elk in Montana.

Down south of you we’re still at only about 6” thick. Had some real warmups that keep me from getting too brave on the ice but the last couple nights have been cooler.

Just heard from the sponsor. The fly in has been moved to Sunday the 17th due to forecast freezing rain on Saturday the 16th.

It sounds like the east is getting normal temperatures in the west the geese which should be south by now are keeping a spot ice free in a lake near here. I haven’t checked but I doubt if ice is more than a inch thick here.
