More time-lapse fun: 24 hrs of wildfire

The stars rotating through the sky are pretty awesome.
FireStorm uncovers the fascinating world of altered time to the viewer, allowing a unique look at nature's fury. Shot with 3 cameras over a period of 28 hours during September 28-29th 2005. Firestorm shows a a unique look at the Simi Valley fire which consumed 25,000 acres. Look for Mars, Orion & the Moon rising in the distance...
Ps: I didn't make this, I only found it.

One of the really interesting facets of this video is the fire behavior. Generally fires are expected to "behave" somewhat predicatably, with the peak fire-behavior being in the afternoon when temperatures are the highest and humidities the lowest. Night-time usually means lower temperatures and moisture recovery (higher relative humidity) with resulting decreased fire activity.
I was not at the Simi Fire, but at several other large fires, most notably the Basin Complex of fires in the Big Sur/Carmel Valley area, the fire behavior was most intense between mid-night and sunrise when the humidities bottomed out. The video seems to show this reversed pattern of activity. I took a lot of still photos, but did not have a video camera or the creativity to try for time-lapse work. Great video!
