Motion: Edge of Alaska

Some great crisp shots in here of a Skywagon and Super Cub, and some incredible scenery.

Wish my 182 looked like that.

Re: Motion: Edge of Alaska

Nice Video and all shot in my backyard. It is fantastically beautiful country. The pilot is my downriver neighbor and the "actual" float trip from the Nizina glacier to the takeout point at the old bridge is less than a day rather then the five days in the video. That supercub is presently parked in my second hangar. A lot of the pilots that come up from the lower-48 land at the Nizina glacier and stay at the Pea Vine downstream airstrip on the Chitastone River that flows into the Nizina River, however none land on the gravel bar next to the bridge -- except Don and other locals with supercubs.

That was excellent. Great find Z.

Once again, a well narrated story coupled with some nice camera work.... you can't go wrong!
Oh, and a bird for every mission. =D>

That really is some beautiful scenery. This is another area on my short list to visit during my last couple months. I've been saying it for two years, but I'd really like to get down there to visit, Nizina.

Nizina,
If you look to the west during the month of July and you see a red Taylorcraft heading your way, that will be me. Provided, of course, that the stars are perfectly aligned. Perhaps you can point me in the right direction for the great photographs that I hope to capture.

Montana and UH-60
Drop in (land to the west) and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction (mile high cliffs and Nizina glacier), but quite frankly you can fly in most any direction and see fantastic scenery. The nice thing about this country is that while it has the majority of highest mountains in North America and is the most glaciated corner of Alaska, all of your flying will be down at 1,000 to 5,000 msl and there is virtually no body down there, but numerous paces to land and explore.

Amazing video! That area is just awesome.

We spent about a week in the Wrangell's this summer flying and camping, and I think it's safe to say it was the coolest thing I've ever done.
The scenery is just mind blowing!

We got to meet a lot of the local pilots who were really helpful. Still bummed we missed you, Nizina!
