Motoadve Costa Rica to Seattle days 1,2,3 and 4

Costa Rica to Seattle trip. Time 32hrs 51 minutes
3400 NM
398 Gallons

Day 1 early depart to Ilopango , refuel and to Tapachula for customs, then to Huatulco for the night.
8:22 hrs in total, very nice flight , bit bumpy and cloudy in el Salvador, then easy all the way to Tapachula , only problem a 30kts headwind. :(
Mexico customes , easy fast and friendly, Huatulco very nice and cheap, great food!

Day 2 Huatulco Mazatlan all flight along the coast, beautifull scenery, bit bumpy in the mountains, overflew Acapulco , stopped at Ixtapa for fuel and landed in the afternoon in Mazatlan which again was nice , cheap and friendly. 7:11 hrs
Overnight stay $4.00
Fuel $2.95

Departed Mazatlan early in the morning to Guaymas for refuel and inmigration and departure from Mexico, nice little airport with plenty of GA activity.
From there flew to Yuma which was our port of entry into the USA, everything went smooth and departed in the afternoon to Mojave (lots of airliners resting at this airport, very interesting place.
So far the 3 days , the weather has been perfect. We flew 9hrs 10 minutes, beautifull scenery along the way.

[youtube]Before the start of the trip I knew this would be the most challenging day , trying to go north of Redding.
Departed Mojave, windy and gusty flew over the central valley of California, while there it ocurred to us it would be cool to fly over the golden gate bridge, so we did the detour and just when we saw the bridge , weather got bad, so we landed at Marine county airport, waited for 4 hrs and then took off towards Redding, went past Redding but the mountains to the north had clouds covering the peaks and we decided its not a good idea to Scud Run in unknown territory.
So landed back at Redding and Michael's Penman ask his pilot to come pick us up in the PC 12 (thanks Michael for a great backup plan), we flew to Renton.

Re: Motoadve Costa Rica to Seattle

Nice, looks like you flew past the Colima volcano. We took the same route from Ixtapa to Maxatlan last year and had a good view of the volcano.

Motoadve,

I have been meaning to ask what see through rectangle device is sticking up above the pilots side of the panel? All I can think of is the sight reticle above the back seat's panel on the AH1-G Cobra.
