I hope you AK guys don't get too much ash in all your most delicate places.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Yesterday, I spent an hour across the inlet (from Anchorage) practicing s-turns and stalls. It was a beautiful day and we kept our eyes open for clouds from the south. It sounds like the ash cloud didn't make it very far north, but the next one might! I sure hope not.

The Alaska Volcano Observatory has a great website with some web-cams of Augustine. One webcam is on the side of the volcano. Yesterday, you could see mudslides and lahars associated with the eruption.
