MTV's 26D Graces the Cover of CPA Magazine

Congrats Mike!

Too bad they didn't bother to give you credit ANYWHERE in the magazine for the article! WTF?

Anyway, nice article and a fitting tribute to your wonderful 170B! Once again it is nice to count on someone to write something worthy of a read......Has AOPA been calling yet to replace those insufferable amateurs they currently employ? Your article a couple years back on the vintage Cessnas still sits better than the majority of the articles I have read since.

Haven't seen it yet. Submitted that one a little over two years ago. Guess I can drop my membership now..... Seems to me the organization should be named the Cessna 210/310 Association....

Not to bash but that was always my impression too. That, and post restart 182 owners Association. I let my membership lapse after the first year. Just no interest for legacy small engine Cessnas around that joint.

Got the magazine in the mail today.... :D I can't believe they've sat on that for two years, and forgot who submitted it, and were too lazy/incompetent to look up the tail number on the FAA website.

For the record, the in flight photos were taken by Hugh Rose, of Hugh Rose Photography.

Glad they finally published it, though. The airplane has a MUCH better history than I do.

Re: MTV's 26D Graces the Cover of CPA Magazine

I guess I have a minority opinion. It does seem that CPA, the organization, has gone downhill somewhat recently when they lost some good people, but I still believe there isn't an organization out there that provides as many resources and information regarding the ownership, care and maintenance of a given brand. The forums for MX help I have found invaluable. CPA regularly has a half dozen top A&P/IA's that are very willing to help with questions. No question that the 210's and 310's get most of the play, but there are still a lot of legacy 172 and 182 drivers on there as well. The 180/185 and 170 stuff is pretty thin, but based on what little traffic I see on the skywagon webboard I think the chances of getting questions answered on CPA are much higher. YMMV.

Flyengr,

Join EAA. Lately, Mike Busch of CPA fame has started publishing the same articles he puts in the CPA magazine in the Sport Pilot magazine. Seems redundant, but...

I quit CPA for the reasons already stated. I even got a call from a lady asking why I wasn't renewing. I explained to her ther very reasons you guys have stated.

Lance,

Likewise, great to meet you and your Dad, and to see the beautiful workmanship on that RV-8. Wow!

Dunno if I'll be at DL next Saturday or not, but it is a fun deal, for sure.

Nice article & beautiful plane Mike. =D>

I found the magazine on the table in the lounge at Lakeland in Minocqua/Woodruff this Saturday while waiting for a friend to land.
