My friend just "pushed" himself to the South Pole~!

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

My friend just "pushed" himself to the South Pole~!

So my good buddy Grant Korgan just pushed himself 125 miles to the South Pole! It took them 17 days. They had all sorts of weather including -45F weather with a 15- 20kt headwind for a few of days. I cannot even imagine how cold that is! This story is starting to pop up everywhere and thought I would share it. People really have no idea what its really like at the bottom of the world. Aviation is a big part of the process. Check out the HUGE ice runway! Not to mention the geographic South Pole sits at 9,300' with O2 levels of 14,000'. It actually sits on the Polar Dome making their push project uphill the entire way! Anyhow, thought I would share this story as its pretty motivating.

I have a pic of a friend hugging the pole also. He didn't have to ski there though, he was the cook at South Pole station for 2 "summers". He's got some stories...
