Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

that top pic. looked like the best use yet for a piston twin....

should save some low-timer's life...!

Same thing happened at Oshkosh in 2006, except instead of a Sea Fury versus a Jeep it was a TBM Avenger versus a Van's RV. Killed the guy in the RV. Bad deal, more than just ugly.

Re: Mythbusters: Runway incursion "myth"

2006 Oshkosh. Sunday, my wife and I showed up to test fly the Dream Tundra and Monday the Bearhawk. Our 20 minute test flight of the Tundra turned into 2.5hrs while the airport shut down after a Cessna nosed into the runway. The pilot was not badly injured but later that week the warbird sliced into the RV. I understand he lost the position of the RV because of the nose high taxi of his plane. Terrible thing for all concerned. One life lost and at least two more ruined. Somewhere in there is a lesson for the rest of us.

Night before last I finished my corn harvest. Today a blizzard will hit and the governor will shut down the interstates I 29 and 90. It is expected to be like we haven't seen in decades, and we have had some doosies. Being 40 miles from major services the generator is gassed up and ready and the fridge and freezer is full. Wish you all a merry Christmas!

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.

What??? Getting ready for a storm? You should be huddled on your rooftops, waiting for FEMA and the TV helicopters to come rescue you. What are you guys thinking over there?

Yeh Gump, it seems that the goal of our fine elected officials is to get us all on the roof begging to be saved. I did not know tell yesterday that one of the senators from Nebraska was a hooker.
