I wonder how tight the flip top is on these cans. The screw top cans seem like they would be far less likely to leak or create fumes.

Anyone have experience w/ these?

I have four Sceptre Military cans that seal really tight and have never smelled the slightest hint of vapors from them, if this can is as tight that would be great.

I've used the old "jerry cans" with screw lids, and hate them. Even with new gaskets I can't depend on them not to leak. The nato style, on the other hand, with new gaskets have never leaked. Even when left on their sides in the hot sun. I have twelve of them, and use them to haul most of my gas for plane, tractor, mower, and other uses. I make my own gaskets with 3/16" neoprene material. So far, after about 15 years of use, I've not had to replace any of the ones I made. Some of my cans were new and some used. The only complaint I have is that some of them can be a little hard to open without some improvised pry device.
