Need ideas and a name for a medical course for pilots

Many of you know I have been making noise about creating a weekend course teaching emergency medicine specifically for pilots. So I have decided that I need to set a date and get it going. I'll have at least two 2-day seminars on the books next spring, one here in Durango at Animas Airpark and one in Minnesota.

The plan is that in two days we will cover the medical topics that a pilot would be interested in to be prepared for dealing with the first 24 hours after an unplanned and maybe hard off airport landing. This would include:
Methods of extricating patients from a wrecked airplane.
Recognition, treatment, and packaging of a critically injured patient.
Treatment of common serious and minor injuries associated with traumatic events.
Treatment and dressing of wounds and burns.
Effect of hypoxia and altitude on the body.
Hypothermia recognition and prevention.
Creating a custom medical kit and knowing how to use it.
Methods for emergency communications and how to give an accurate patient report to rescuing agencies.

The course will be 50% lecture and 50% hands on and will be accompanied by a Wilderness First Aid certification from Wilderness Medical Associates. The class will be quality, I have been teaching wilderness medicine all over the world for 8 years, am a paramedic/firefighter, ski patroller, former river guide in northern Canada, and have 1000 hours in my 185 flying all over the U.S. and Canada.

So I am struggling with a name, if you've got a good idea for a name that I take I'll either give you 25% off on a course or a free t-shirt/hat whenever I make my first run. So far I have been sticking to 3 word phrases that seem to be the norm around this sort of thing similiar to Wilderness First Responder. I'm open to other configurations as well. Also, I may try and avoid the word wilderness as it seems to mean "hippie" to a large group out there. :P

Here's some of my ideas:
Wilderness Aviation Medicine
Aviation Rescue Medicine
Backcountry Aviation Medicine

I'd also love to know other ideas about other locations that could work, as well as topics. I anticipate the first course costing $450.

Thanks for the help,

Brad

How about Backcountry Aviation Medix?

Let me know your Durango dates. My Sis lives in Durango, and I might fly down for it. Sounds like a good idea.

All of which begs the question: What does EZFLAP stand for? :)

Sir, (EZ Flap), I had no idea what talents lay in that skull of yours, I thought I was clever with my BAM and WAM TLA's (three letter acronym's, I see now I am in the bush leagues. It's just that kind of creativity I was hoping to bring to bear on this issue. With some of your ideas I see leapfrogging the private market and being given 6 figure government contracts on a platter.

You will be happy to know my EZ Flap continues to serve me and my skywagon well, my eyes are always on the runway or strip and am able to add or dump flaps at will.

That actually is my day job, writing proposals for gov't contracts ... at your service :)

Anytime you need a proposal or RFQ response for your training program, PM me and we'll talk.

Re: Need ideas and a name for a medical course for pilots

EZFLAP stands for keeping my eyes on the road at critical phases of flight.

It has really made a huge and great difference in my Flap extension and retraction, especially on very short and challenging strips. It is a well designed and well thought out product.

Now back to Stall Warning Triage.
