If anyone has a Maule M4 or early M5 in the greater Los Angeles CA area, I would appreciate the opportunity to come by and do a quick ground installation test on a re-designed part I am considering certifying. I'm specifically looking for an early Maule that has the tiny little 3/8" diameter thumb button on the flap handle, the one that sticks out of a really small small hole in the plastic grip. I do not need the larger "full diameter" 5/8 or 3/4 diameter button which is used on M6 and later Maules.

The airplane does not have to be airworthy.

There will be no changes made to your airplane, no holes, no dis-assembly. The only modification you will have to deal with is an extra six-pack of beer installed in your refrigerator. I just need 5 minutes to remove the plastic grip and see if my widget fits and works on the "stepped" early thumb button, then re-install your plastic grip. If the widget works, my extension device will be able to bolt on in 5 minutes instead of 30, without even having to drill the two small holes currently required.
