need to kill somthing

Anybody know of a place to shoot jackrabits or to call in cayotes in Southern California dessert. My son lives in Corona in Riverside County in So Cal. He wants to meet me arround Lancaster or southern part of Owens Valley that has a landing site.

I have lived up north for 26 years and the places I used to go as a kid are full of houses now.

Dessert Rat, where are you?

Tim:

I heard you had chucks up in your area in the spring. True?

We have 120 acres of which about 100 is irrigated. We do have rock chucks in the spring and yes they are expendable. A neighbor about a two miles away who had lots of chucks has very few now. Seams that rock chuck influenza came in and really knocked the heck out of them. Did not effect us so we have to control the population the old fashion way. with lead. Hopefully the strip will be done by then. Thinking of a fly in chuck hunt.

Several years ago my son shot an 11 pound chuck. That is a lot of chuck and I am not sure if there is a rock chuck influenza it just sounded cool.
