I thought I might introduce myself instead of just lurking around here. I am not officially a pilot but I am working on it. An accident at the beginning of this year left me financially strained, so my lessons have had to be put on hold for a while. Hopefully I can learn some stuff from everyone on the board here in the meantime!

Welcome. Zane has created a very nice site here. Lot's of usefull information and at times some humorous posts. I joined years ago and check in daily, dont post much at times. There are some really experienced pilots on this board and i pick up some good info. If you are into this type of backwoods off airport type of flying, it is a good place to throw out your questions. Best of luck and hope you enjoy your flying adventures.

Welcome aboard! NEVER give up the dream. I had a similar issue when I first started flying. I went under a semi and was laid up for nearly 2 years. The finacial and emotional drain can get challenging. Continuing medical issues have limited my hopes of advancing my flying career but at least I can still fly under Sport Pilot rules. Just never give up hope and learn as much as you can. Good Luck.

Thanks for the welcomes. I was not layed up for two years but I did end up being out of commission for 4 months due to a broken back and pelvis. Not only is it a financial issue for me but also emotional for my family. My wife is the only one in my family who knows about my flying. My grandfather was a pilot and so was my uncle. My uncle was killed in a Cub in the Brooks Range AK. So I am hoping my family will take it well when I tell them about learning to fly.
