And we know that sumbitch will carry a hefty load over a long distance! I wonder of you could do a field approval for the VG's...

Actually I believe one of the most successful "bush planes" in history was the original Ford Tri-Motor. It would do a lot of work out of a reasonably short field. Some company put (more) modern engines on it and called it the "bushmaster" with some amount of success.

The Antonov AN-2 could have been a very successful bush plane in the West, but a certain company in Wichita saw it as a threat to their new single engine turbine aircraft and applied a LOT of pressure on the FAA to not allow a US type certificate on the big Russian biplane.

I like it!

With a full weapons load you could clear a strip to land on, shoot down birds to prevent strikes, carry enough supplies to set up a base camp, have enough range and speed to get to virtually any fly-in, have a taildragger to fly, AND give the TSA reason to fear you! :lol:
