New to BCP

I'm new to BCP. I have been looking for an airplane for almost 2 years. I narrowed my search to a Cessna 180 and a Maule M7 . About 2 months ago I purchased a 1994 Maule M7-235B with an O540. It came with a set of Aqua 2400 floats. It is on wheels right now- 8:50s. I've put about 20 hrs on it so far and am very happy with it! I just put vortex generators on it so I am excited to see what, if any, difference they make. I don't want to start any Type wars- I have lots of time in Cessna 180/185s- great airplanes.
It has been fun reading all the opinions that are expressed on this site, I have learned a lot. Hopefully after a while I will be able to add some of my own.
Thanks to all who contribute-aviation is a very small community and we need to stick together.

Welcome! You should be able to find some reasonably priced airplanes right now. Good luck on your search.

Congratulations on your new airplane and welcome to BCP. Great bunch of aviators here. I have a Maule M-5-210-C which I have flown over 700 hours. Great airplane. Also I have about 25 hours in an M-5-180 with the vortex generators. The V/Gs allow me to fly that airplane, with solid control...10 MPH(nuts to knots :twisted: ) slower. They make a big difference.

But I really don't need to approach slower than 50/55 mph indicated anyhow. So I just put the money into the fuel tank instead of on the wing. However they are a wonderful improvement on an already fine airplane.

Thanks for the invite L19. What a great place you guys have there! Sorry I could only stay for the fish fry, I would definitely like to come back. Let me know when your field is open. Maybe a little ski flying this winter?
