New to Idaho Backcountry

Hi,
I will be back in Idaho over thanksgiving and am hoping to squeeze some flying in. I am looking for suggestions for entry level backcountry landing strips that will still be available in late nov. I will be talking with an instructor but thought I if you all had some suggestions I could look into them before I go.
Thanks,
Sara

You'll be pushing it for most of them. If it's dry you might have the desert strips to work with. Grasmere, Murphy Hot Springs, Laidlaw, Hollow Top, Bear Trap. I've been in to Magic Reservoir, Fairfield and Picabo that late but it's iffy. If you're going to BOI another option might be Owyhee Reservoir and Smith's Prairie. Smith's is high though soall it takes is one good shot of snow and your done. Most of these options aren't really on the "back" list though, more like "front".
Hell's canyon will be open but I wouldn't call most of those "entry level". I was at Weatherby late in November last year with no snow but just up the river a few miles and a thousand feet higher it was snowed in at Atlanta, same around the corner at Graham.
Have a look around though. If you remind me nearer to your arrival I'll give you a snow report for the neighborhood.
