Next year!

I was working about 30 miles from this site a couple weeks ago, and kept eyeballing this one bowl. I'm working again this week in the same area, so today I went ahead and satisfied my curiosity. Even though I took my skis off and couldn't "do anything about it" today, this site will be on my list for bext winter. From a distance, see it?

Bit closer.

Bingo.

8400', the peak in back is over 11K. Plenty wide and plenty long, and NO TRACKS, meaning some need to be laid down there :D I'd touchdown fairly low down and lay down tracks up to the turnaround, and then make the takeoff, and then do it again. Then and only then come to a full stop at the top of the turnaround. Seems like every year flying I keep finding new sites, I haven't come close yet to getting bored flying my little part of Idaho =D>

Up at the ski area today, 8560' at the get off, I realized I had direct line of sight to the 8400' bowl I was over yesterday. It eyeballed about 80 miles, but the GPS says it's 102 miles away 8)

Re: Next year!

how is pebble this year, need to get back. Used to teach adaptive skiing there for folks that have physical needs. Loved it and the CWHOG program.

Re: Next year!

Pebble is good, past years would have sucked due to low snow, but whole different deal now with better grooming equipment and the know how to use them. The groomers can do no wrong this year, free beer where ever they go in Poky or Inkom! Of course, nothing beats fresh powder......
