I think it is BS that anyone can get this info. But then I rarely file a flight plan. I knopw lots of guys will probably think me a "Rebel" and stupid for not doing so. The reason is.... I rarely know where I am going when I get in the plane. 99% of my flights are just to go flying. I takeoff and then just buzz around and have fun. Now granted, if I am on a specific mission or place I might file a flight plan but also the most important aspect is to let the spousal unit know where I am going. I also have a SPOT so she can track me anyway.
I also understand the reason the FAA wants to keep track of me due to air traffic but the areas I fly there are very few planes to worry about and 99% of them are probably not under a flight plan either.
