Titus577:
Check your local NWS office. For me, I go to the Sacramento site. Not knowing where in SoCal you are from, I'm guessing you are in the LA/Oxnard office region:
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/lox/scripts/get ... d&back=yesHopefully this link will get you the forecast discussion. If you are in San Diego or Hanford office's region, I can get you a link to those sites too, or just search the area pages for the forecast discussion. See here: This should work for anyone else interested.
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/wrh/forecastoffice_tab.php Like Terry I find this discussion to be some of the best info available as to how confident the weather guessers feel about the accuracy and severity of their forecasts.......I usually make sure I look at it in addition to any flight briefing I get. There is good discussion on winds during fair weather flying, as well as many of our areas that are not well covered by TAF's.
