Northern FL Prebuy Mechanic

Hey. I know our membership might be a little light in this region, but anyone have any recommendations for a good Cessna mechanic to do a prebuy in this area?

Thanks.

You might contact Brian at Adventure Seaplanes. He's down there with his floatplanes just south of Orlando and might know someone. I think he even got his A and P a few years ago.

Cory, make sure to have them look for corrosion-salt air-not good if corrosion not treated correctly. When we were partners in the 172, our co-partner had lived in FL and we had to deal with the corrosion upon inspection.

Yeah, that is the concern. They say it's been treated every year. Talked to its mechanic and he says it's clean. It came from CA 5 years ago and spent the last 4-5 in FL. We will see. Thanks!

Give Ken Oddy a call (904) 545-6497 at County Line Aviation out of 42J Starke, Fl. He has a Beech 18, a few cubs, and a V-77 definitely a good mechanic and easy to work with. My girlfriend was in PA school a few years back down there and I bought a 150 while we were in the area and had him do some wrenching on it for me. Tell him the guy from Alaska with the beater old 150 sent you his way.

Every time one of these threads comes up, I think of Bill Reid. Seems like there's a lot of folks in this community that are very happy with his services. If it's cheaper, have him fly into Tampa and I'll fly him where he needs to go from here.

Grassstrippilot,

You have luck finding someone? Hoping this turns into one of those "Guess who has two thumbs and a new to me ________" type of threads.

I'm momentarily focusing in another direction. So I'll see if someone in FL is going to be needed. Thanks!
