Yes! Love it...
This site is the place to find the coolest videos.

I recognize you're avatar from the 180/185 club. Nice!

lame american guy question here... Do ag folks from NZ fly in AU and viceversa much? Do you know student pilot from this and other sites?

The Cresco looks fun, but something about a load being behind me in a wreck spooks me

Take care, Rob

Great video and thanks for posting.

Do you always pilot this craft from the right seat?

Re: NZ backcountry pilot at work.

Topdressing? One of the ways I have heard this term used is the spreading of cow/bullshit on the fields....
air app is too expensive for that, so what is being spread? Also, around here, cultivated crops are what receive the dusters attention....
Would someone care to enlighten me??

Thx

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process... :)
With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

Wow! Great video! What is it like flying in NZ? I have often thought of moving there but I am afraid of finding out the flying regs would kill my flying.

Re: NZ backcountry pilot at work.

This video reminded me of one of the manufacturers videos. I think it is some cool flying.

If you don't like the video, you can at least practice your dance moves.

Re: NZ backcountry pilot at work.

Hi Rob, not an ag pilot myself, just an interest. In days gone by NZ pilots would sometimes fly in Aus when there was a downturn in the industry here, probably not so much now as there is not a lot of solids put on by air in Aus, mostly spraying and I think there are quite a few Kiwi pilots in that industry. Not so many Australian pilots over here. Don't think I know student pilot. Yes can understand why you wouldn't want to be between load and engine but it has been the norm here since early days. I don't seem to be able to see your video? Safe flying. Cheers.

Hi Lc, there fertilizer being applied is usually super phosphate, lime, urea or anything else that makes grass grow. Cheers.

Re: NZ backcountry pilot at work.

Hi Mau Mau, not an ag pilot myself but I think all the dual control Crescos are flown from the right hand seat. They are no longer in production. The new PAC product is the PAC 750XL, I think there are only two or three of those on topdressing ops with Farmers Air in Gisbourne.

Re: NZ backcountry pilot at work.

Clearly I wouldn't be here if I wasn't into airplanes, but I do also have a soft spot for purpose built machines. I had never seen one of those fertilizer handler / fuel truck deals before. Very, very cool.
