That's pretty f***in' COOL ! Looks like real good pilotage as well. Wow, that looks like fun.
Just need tall pistons and a nitrous bottle in my old wheezing O-300 to get back out of that LZ

It is F'ing cool. Anybody who doesn't think the 182 can make a serous back country contender, can think again. Larry wrings out every bit of performance on this machine. Stock 0-470, MT prop , Sportsman stc with VG's + pilot ability = impressive performance, and a nose pusher to boot !!!

Great examples of what my instructors tried to beat into me... pitch for airspeed, throttle for altitude.

Here is my O-300 powered C-170, leaving the same sandbar, back out around the corner without any problem. The eastbound takeoff has no obstacles and close to 1,000' of usable bar. plenty of room for just about anything.
