"off airport" operations

If you will in Oshkosh on Tuesday the 26th, consider getting up early and joining the fun at the #2 GAMA building in the forums area.

I have asked several of my coyote hunting pilot friends from way back, to add their stories to the presentation. When I called and asked them to contribute, it was the beginning of story telling time. It's a good thing that long distance is cheap nowadays.
It's all about how different this type of flying is from the everyday normal type. Just entertainment, no instruction. It's how some of us do things out here in the West. My off airport landings number well into the hundreds and add those of my friends, and we are into the thousands. We will even tell about wrecks others have had. <grin> In my one mishap, I will tell you how many yards of barbed wire a 180 hp Cessna can pull.

No instruction, just stories about a type of flying many of you will probably not have an opportunity to do.

Pulled some barbed wire myself a couple of weeks ago. Not good for the S7, not to bad for me. A helmet would definitely have helped though.

Magnut,
I have friends building the Rans S7, tell me about your experience and the damage, I am interested in how a Rans S7 can handle this.

Bravo Hotel,
My old friend was the type of pilot you want to be. Come by and visit with him at the forum. He flew for the SD Game, Fish and Parks. My other friend, who is going to try to make it, flew for the federal control program, and is now retired. Started with Super Cubs, and later the Husky.

Clipped a barbed wire fence on T/O and the plane flipped. The cage is super strong and protected me well. I walked away with some sore ribs and a small cut on my head (snug up those seat belts). Wings were badley damaged but fuselage survived. Great plane and like others on this forum, highly recommend it.
