Thanks for the 2 great montages. You stumbled upon a couple of great collections on your travels this time. I've actually had the good fortune to land at a couple of the places you stopped at on this trip, but would like to visit more. Could you post more information about the stops you made along the way and whether those airports are open to the public or not? I'd sure appreciate it. If I can't make solo visits, I'll jut work harder to join OBP on their next big adventure. Thanks again for sharing the visual highlights of this trip!

Owls Head is one of my favorite places. Corliss steam engine was built in a factory on Corliss ST. in Providence That was back when we still manufactured things in RI. I'm prejudiced but I think Maine is the most beautiful place I've ever been. Not to mention, north of Moosehead to the Canadian border is about as remote as it gets in the lower 48. A long time between places to put down in an emergency.

This was almost a "museum tour" trip for us. Some went to the Glenn Curtis Museum in Hammonsport, NY. (I was there last year). It is first class if you get near there, go and land on the grass strip nearby.

The "picker's place" was Brian Boland's Post Mills strip. He holds all kinds of balloon records and has the largest collection of them, along with everything else. Land at Post Mills airport near Fairlee, VT. I was fascinated by all his stuff.

Owl's Head, Maine is also a must stop. Land at the Transportation Museum at Owl's Head.
