Old airstrip near Lake of the Woods in Oregon?

I went camping at Fourmile Lake in Oregon last weekend. While looking at a satellite image of the area I noticed what what appears to be an overgrown airstrip on the northeast side of Lake of the Woods in a meadow adjacent to highway 140. Does anyone familiar with the area know if this used to be an airstrip? It sure looks like it would be a cool spot. The coordinates are 42.39N/122.21W

Re: Old airstrip near Lake of the Woods in Oregon?

While the planned golf course and baseball fields were never constructed, the meadow was used as an airstrip from the lake 1930’s to the 1960’s. You can still see evidence of the strip through the middle of the meadow...

The Airstrip is on this USFS Recreation map from 1973. Just off the NE corner of Lake of the Woods.
