Old School "Cool"

Hmm, the dogs tail looks mighty short :)
If you don't find yourself watching it to the end... you just don't "get it"

Re: Old School "Cool"

Thanks Skytruck, that took me back. My dad was a forest manager and from early childhood I spent a lot of time in the bush with him and the loggers, as well as in the sawmills. I worked in a mill as a machinist until a life changing industrial accident all but severed my left hand at the age of 21. I loved working with timber the feel of it and the different scents from different species.

Re: Old School "Cool"

With all those open gears & pulleys I think I know why the dogs tail is short

From working countless hours in sheet metal fabrication shops, I think the biggest danger is getting out of syncopation between your hands (which are handling the work) and your foot (which is mashing down the pedal). It's nice to see old school methods are still being employed in todays computerized digital CNC world.
That box plant reminds me of a project I worked on at Fort Worden, an old turn of the (20th) century army base. We were remodeling the old base machine shop, in which all of the equipment was belt-driven. The equipment was all removed, but the overhead system ofdrive belts & pulleys (which may have originally been steam powered?) was left in place as an exhibit.
