Hi
I was wandering if somebody has been in Oljato, UT (monument valley) lately?
I am planning a trip with a friend from German in October and was wondering if one can land there and stay for a night or two.?
Thanks
Georg

I don't know anything about the strip but i hiked up the wash while rafting the san juan. It was a fantastic meander through the canyon on the south bank of the river.
There is not much out there so camping is probably fine.
Beautiful area, have fun and please report back with your findings, preferably with pictures!

Flew Cessna 402's there back in '82...
There was an old mud hut there that an elderly indian woman sold supplies.
Mighty hot the way I remember it. She had a swamp cooler in the place and it was about the only shade around other than under the wing.
I usually had to buzz the strip to scatter the cows/burros.
They left small piles/obstacles on the runway just to keep it interesting.
The approach to the place took some planning... at least in the 402.
Pictures would be great if you go there. I'd like to see what it looks like today.
