One morning in Maine

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

One morning in Maine

Hey all, I've been lurking a while and thought I'd add a little content and show what it's like to fly in the western mountains of Maine. I hope you enjoy.

Re: One morning in Maine

Hi Pundy- and Welcome! Your area is where my 170B came from most recently. A small grass field called Lindbergh Municipal. Sure is beautiful back there, but I'm surprised the trees haven't taken on more color yet. Are they pressing cider yet?? Man, sure could go for some, just thinking about New England in the fall...

Re: One morning in Maine

Thanks for the comments guys. Hicountry, I lived in Idaho for about 5 years, wish I was a pilot then. I was a raft guide and flew into lots of funky strips that scared me. I love it out there. Denali, Lindbergh is only a stones throw from me! You came all the way out here from AK to pick up your plane?! That's a trip. I thought I was crazy buying my plane in Seattle. Bill, I did not make it to Greenville this year, was busy with the family that weekend. I think we should create an eastern BCP fly-in. What do you think?

Re: One morning in Maine

Sam you could do that but there are so many fly-ins in Maine now finding an open date would be the problem
Look fwd to meeting up sometime.

Re: One morning in Maine

Sam,
I was up in Jackman trying some fly fishing in the moose river right behind the airport back in August. I live in Rockland and fly out of Owls Head. On my way home I followed the moose river over to Rockwood, then over to Mt Kineo, down to Greenville and then home. I love flying over in the western mtns. When I get a little more time, I'll post some of the pics I've taken over there.

Mike, I'd love to see your pics. It's been great flying up here for the last few days. I need to get some floats on my plane so I can fish wherever I want in all those lakes.
