Wow...that's a good load of snow on the ground.
Did you get the front end on your pickup fixed?

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Aww good ol Felts... First solo RWY 21R N3334E 03 Jan 2005. My family is up the Clearwater River from Lewiston in Pierce and they have more snow right now than they had in Feb last year. Looks like it's gonna be a great winter.
Ricky Harbor was my DPE about a year later. He still around?

Hey Zane,
My truck is in the shop. As we speak they are installing a serviceable front differential case to include all new bearings, gears, seals, ring and pinion. Apparently the pinion bearing had frozen up, got hot, and welded the bearing to the case. Nothing that large sums of $$$$ can’t fix.

I wish we could get some snow here in the northeast. Supposed to get 3 inches of rain by tomorrow night
Not sure what all that means, but it don't look good in Minn. either.

Tim where in Northern NY are you ... Just visited my son in Stormville NY last month That's in Dutchess county. He's a detective in the NYPD in the Bronx...

I live east of Albany, on the VT. boarder. I learned to fly at the Stormville airport 35 years ago, I hear it's in rough shape now

it's closed. they have swap meets on it on weekends...I go by it every time I'm back there. Runways still there and I suppose you could land on it and I don't know if there are x's on the ends or not but my son says it's closed.

That's a sad thought. Many a skydive was made at Stormville back in the day. I can vaiguely remember being there a time or two as a kid in the mid-seventee's and I took my first aerobatic ride with The French Connection over Stormville when they were still at Dutchess County (and alive for that matter).
I guess you can consider this a thread hijacking.

If you're not scarin' yourself, you're not scarin' the crowd!
You're right on both things, Thread hijacking and the sky divers. When I was there they had a DC 3 to haul the sky divers up. There were 80 to 100 planes on the field. When Pete O Brian died ( the owner ) his daughter took over and made a flea market out of the place. Sucks

Hi James,
Does your truck have a lift kit installed?
I like your tire/wheel combo, and am wondering if it required a lift kit?

your right about the flea market... I thought it was a swap meet. They have all these squares roped off on the runway and apron for the sellers... a damn shame it was a nice little airport...Now all stormville has as its claim to fame is Greenhaven state prison next to the old airport...Sorry about the thread hijacking, it wasn't intended..

Hope for some VFR weather next weekend. Wish I had some skis on the Maule too. Lots of snow around Spokane, and North Idaho already this year.
