Owahee Canyon HotSprings

In the Owahee canyon of Eastern Oregon, there is a hot springs on the edge of Owahee reservoir, in the southern end, in the section that runs more or less east/west. Across from the hot spring, and a little to the north west, the quadrangle map shows a flat spot. Does anyone know if that spot is landable? It may be covered with boulders, brush, trees? or it might just be small gravel or sand. I'd love to hear if anyone has overflown that area recently, or better yet, could tell me that they have set a bird down on there.
thanks,

Great! The flat is 43:18.772, 117:23.896 I hope to be out there myself in a few weeks, but I will probably just land at Pelican Pt. strip and camp there.

Flew over those coordinates about 4 hours ago. Looks like a lot a sagebrush. There is a private strip just up the canyon from it.

Thanks for taking a look. I wonder if the private strip is at the old Watson townsite? I'm not surprized to hear that it is brushy. I looked it up on google earth, and it was all green.

Also, does anyone know where the nearest 92 octane Mogas would be available in that neck of the woods.

thanks again,

The private strip is just a few miles up stream of the stop you were looking at. No townsite that I could see. Look on your sectional.

What are you burning 92 octane mogas in.

I fly a Zenith 701 STOL clone powered with a Rotax 912S. While ugly and slow, it can take off or land in a couple hundred feet.

Watson

On the east side of the river same side as the old town site of Watson there is a good landing area. In all directions. It is basically just a silted area from when the river was or is up, there are a few scattered rocks, but it is mostly flat and really smooth, could be overgrown with cockle burs also I believe the strip you're referring to up the river is listed as Pinacle Ranch and is owned by the BLM the runway is actually alfalfa and for the majority of time is unusable due to the height of the alfalfa
