P.K. Floats is back.

PK Floats has been purchased by SR Aviation LLC and has just reopened. This is our first week open under the new ownership after being closed for almost three years. We have a lot planned in the coming months and the future is looking bright for the company.

The first floats we are putting back into production are the most popular in our lineup, the PK2250A, PK3050A, PK2300, and PK3000.

We will be at the 42nd ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL SEAPLANE FLY-IN, in Greenville Maine and if anyone from backcountrypilot.com stops by to say "hi" I will hook them up with a PK t-shirt and some other swag.

My name is Levi Guimond, and if anyone is in the market for a new set of floats for their Husky, Cessna 180/185 or Skyhawk, please contact me. I would be happy to answer any technical questions and I can be reached at PK Float by calling 207-794-0180.

Re: P.K. Floats is back in business.

Are those all straight floats? Do you make any amphibious floats? I have heard that the Aerocet light sport amphibious floats are only being sold exclusively to Cub Crafters, not the public. Same goes for American Legend, they are manufacturing their own amphibious light sport float. Their seems to be a big hole in the market for light sport amphibious floats, are you guys thinking about this? Float flying is sure a hoot! We have a set of 2000 amphib floats.

Re: P.K. Floats is back in business.

The PK2250A and PK3050A are both amphibious. The 2250A is certified on the Husky and the 3050A is certified on the C-180/185. These floats were modeled after the PK2300 and PK3000 with improvements made to the spreader bar and internal structure. Our website will be complete in a few weeks and we will have much more information about what we offer there. -Levi

It is good to hear that companies are getting back into the industry. Good luck.

Thank you.

I was in Homer, in May on a road trip from Maine to AK, and I wanted to stop by your seaplane base and introduce myself, but I felt funny walking into your business and saying "Hey, I recognize that green beaver from backcountry pilot"

Good to hear PK floats will once again be available. I have a lot of hours working PeeKay and PK floats, and have owned a couple sets as well. Tough floats and they work.

Alton was a friend. He was taken way too young, and I feared the company would disappear. Thanks for posting the news.

Thank you MTV,

A few years ago you sent us a photo of your 170(I believe) on PK's when we were looking for photos of our products in action, I still have that photo. Part of my new marketing strategy will include testimonials from individuals like yourself.

I may reach out to you in a few weeks and see if this in something we could do. It would be a simple one line thing about why you liked PK's.

Thank you -Levi

Any chance of certifying the 2250As on American Champion Scouts?

Re: P.K. Floats is back.

The PK B2300 is certified on the Scout, and the B2300 is the basis of design for the 2250A. There has been some talk to certify the Scout on the 2250A's, given interest. If you are interested in purchasing a set of 2250A's pending an approval on the scout, please give us a call and express your interest in these floats. 207-794-0180. Ask for Levi, and we can discuss the price and timeline for approval of this float.
