So, the new-to-me Pawnee is home, sitting on a trailer. I still need to find somebody to do the ultra-sound on the wing attach points and the lift struts. I'm north of Seattle but just brought it 1200 miles by trailer and don't mind hitting the road again if I can find somebody to do the work.
I will do the one of the terminating STC's next winter, but for now, I'm just looking to get the testing done and get it in the air. Any suggestions on where to get this done in Wa, Or or Idaho would be helpful.
I did try the Arlington glider guys but, as of yet, haven't been able to connect with the one guy they pointed me at.

Paul Neunhuis at A.I.R. used to work on the glider club's tow planes, but he retired.
I heard the new shop on the field (Skye Aero) might be gonna do their work now.

I talked to Charlie today. He didn't have anyone immediately available who could do the testing but is looking. He is supposed to get back to me. So for now, I'm still hunting.
I did find one place, Johnston Aircraft, in California that can do it. That's a really long drive with the airplane on the trailer though...

Try Anvil Corp out of Burlington. They used to do all our Ultrasonic testing of 985 cylinders for us. Great to deal with.

Any tips on the trailering, disassembly, damage enroute (hopefully not), lessons learned, etc. I've certainly entertained the option of a trailerable progject, but it always seemed too daunting. If you have time, I'd really appreciate your insights/experience. Thanks!

I will post trailering info and photos in a few days. It went amazingly well and there were some lessons learned. Stay tuned.

I have tracked down someone who can do the inspection in Kent. Apparently Mistras has an able bodied person with an NAS-410 certification (whatever that is). The down side is that they want about $1200 to do the wing attach points and the lift struts. I can drive to Idaho and back for about $200 so I will call your guy on Monday. At least I do have a path forward though, even if it's more money than I'd like.
I am still waiting on the wing attach STC parts that will terminate one AD.
New sealed lift struts run about $3500 a side with $1000 shipping, so I'm really trying to find a cheaper inspection option. I had thought that inspection with a Maule punch was still an option but that does not seem to be the case. Can anybody verify that the latest AD requires ultra sonic inspection and does not allow a provision for using a Maule punch? I've read through the AD about a dozen times and can't find a way around the requirement for ultra sound and I couldn't find a current thread on short wing that addresses this question.

Edit to add, take the forks off and tap on struts, if any rust chunks come out of the strut, then I'd replace them with new ones.
