Pacer left window

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Pacer left window

Looking for a 337 from anyone that has installed a swing-out window in a PA22/PA20 on the left side. Looks like it would be super easy to add a frame, a Maule-style latch and gas strut for a real cool breezy window.

Perhaps report back anything you find so that we can help the next Pacer-flying backcountry pilot. 8) We can even post copies of such 337 field approvals in our knowledge base under the Pacer entry.

Thanks.

Re: Pacer left window

The Clipper I owned for a few years had flip up windows on both sides. If I recall, Stewart Systems did the work and had the paperwork for it. I peaked at their website a little and could find it but it may worth a call to them?

Here's a pic. You can see the left window open in the background and in the foreground a little bit of the way it was installed:

It was a great mod and awesome to fly around with both windows open!

Re: Pacer left window

I certainly will call them! Short of a left door, since my 22/20 has a new cover on her I think the opening window would be fairly simple, add little weight and certainly help with the boxed-in pilot syndrome :D

Re: Pacer left window

Also, you can sort of see it in the picture but the left window had one of those cirulcar vent cut outs that allowed some air flow when you twisted it open. That solved the all or nothing issue when you don't want the window wide open.

Good luck! I'm a big fan of the short wings!
