Parking in Boise, ID area

I recently moved to Boise for school so now I got to find a place to park the plane. I checked into the Nampa airport but don't really like the tie down arrangement there. Can't get into Boise because I have no transponder. Anyone know a good place to tie down or am I stuck with Nampa. Would like to find a place with a 30 minute drive from Boise. The plane will spend part of the year in Boise and the other part in Idaho Falls so I can't justify renting a hanger that will be empty half the year.
Any ideas let me know.

Jon

Heading to IF this weekend and plan on doing some flying if the weather is good enough. Might fly up to Henry's Lake just to get the wheels off the pavement.

Your pushin' it for 30 minutes drive time in the big city now. Nampa can be thirty minutes at the wrong time of day. Caldwell is your next bet but Emmett is getting farther than 30 min., a good option none the less.
I know it looks farther on the map but you might try Mountain Home. It's in the right direction for less traffic, is all 84mph/cruise control, Mogas-100LL/maintenance/tiedown on field, gets you in the right direction for IF, and meets your mode C requirements. It blows out there though.
Arnie is the airport manager - 208-587-3585. I do some spraying over there and he is a real easy guy to get along with.
