Parts interchange between 100 series cessna?
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
Hi guys,
Is anyone familiar with the precedent for replacing parts on a 182, but from one donor model to another?
I happen to know of a horizontal stabilizer from a newer 182 that I could get a really good deal on. It's the newer, wider, stabilizer so I'm very interested.
Thanks

If you are replacing the same p/n from one plane to another that's easy. If they are different parts, then you need to make a minor/major determination as this is an alteration. If major, like your proposed horiz. stab, you will need to find an STC or ask the FSDO how they feel about a field approval. For the latter, if you could find a copy of someone else's 337 that would be helpful.

I'm assuming it comes with the elevators as well?

Talk to Cessna about parts substitution. Not uncommon Fo them to provide a letter of approval. Makes the process a lot easier. A tremendous amount of parts are from the 182T are still a perfect fit for older models. Cessna has also been good about providing cross-reference part numbers from older to new.
