Patrol the Everglades

3 minute video of a flight in my Bearhawk Patrol from Okeechobee, FL to Homestead, Fl over Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades with Poochini as the co-pilot and a little "non-traditional" Christmas music, haha!

Sweet!

Looks like you are getting the hang of the Patrol! (Nice T/O)

Thats some inhospitable terrain. Nothing but water, snakes and gators, oh my. Do you carry any type of survival gear or PLB?

The dog is the star of the video, looks like he's got it all together! I got my mutt fooled, though he goes every where else with me, including crane jobs, when I get in the airplane he know's he ain't going (isn't room most of time, or going somewhere dog unfriendly) so there isn't any drama. Vid's like this though make me feel guilty of animal abuse. Nice windows in that Patrol.

#1 on my list of maybe's if I build another bird, would be a bushed out Zipper modified Rotax powered LSA Patrol, that thing would be a performer. I like the way you guys with Patrols and Bearhawks USE THEM, the ultimate compliment to the design. =D>

The Patrol is such a nice airplane that you get very comfortable with it very quickly, as if you had been flying it a long time! No survival gear but that is a very good idea. I would normally skirt around the edge of the Lake and the edge of the Everglades and always have a place to land in an emergency but, on this day, I just went for it with confidence in the airframe and engine. If I do that again I will have water, knife, PLB, and first aid kit on board! Thanks for watching.

Re: Patrol the Everglades

Poochini has a lot of hours! He eats pretty good when he flies somewhere with me. He thinks dry dog food is a treat because he is always eating what I eat! I love the Patrol...it feels like a plane you have been flying for years after less that 10 hours on the stick. Very capable STOL and fast for when you want to get somewhere quick! Lots of room, great vis, lots of fresh air with windows open or just using the Cessna type vents (much needed here in Florida). Thanks for watching.
