PAUMA VALLEY AIR PARK (95L)???

Anybody here on BCP live here or know if you can get permission to land at PAUMA VALLEY AIR PARK (95L)?

Not that I have plans anytime soon to land here if permission was grated. But I have a co-worker/vender that lives right down the road from this private airpark. He talks about it once in a while and thought it would be nice to fly in there and take him for a ride.

He's also not too far from LAKE WOHLFORD RESORT (L68) which appears to be Limited-Public use. So that would work, too.

Re: PAUMA VALLEY AIR PARK (95L)???

flew into Pauma Valley about 3 weeks ago as part of an organized fly in breakfast... special permission had to be obtained and I doubt if they will grant permission for just one landing... it's a pretty exclusive strip... However Lake Wohlford is also private but i go in there quite regularly as do several others... most won't go there though as they consider it too short and narrow...the hangar owners there are almost never there and the few that are don't mind us coming in any time... they don't want inexperienced or student pilots flying in though... The restaurant at the bottom of the acccess road has good food although I haven't been in there in several months..If you go land to the west and take off to the west. They don't want takeoffs over the trailer park but landing over the trailers is ok...there's a rather huge paintball park about half a mile off the departure end that is used by police and special forces types as well as the public...

Sounds good. The strip south of Valley Center will work perfect then. Thanks Butch!

Re: PAUMA VALLEY AIR PARK (95L)???

My folks lived in Fallbrook for many years so I am (or was) kinda interested in airstrips in that area. Looked up Pauma Valley on airnav, BTW it's now listed as CL33 not 95L, and can't tell from the info & overhead photo whether it's an airpark or a fly-in country club golf course, or both. Several years ago while down there visiting, we drove a big loop starting from I-15 at Pala Mesa out Hwy 76 to Lake Henshaw, then up and around Hwy 79 back to I-15 at Temecula. According to my old San Diego terminal chart, there's several airstrips close to that route (Pauma Valley,Cuca,Ward, Billy Joe) but the only one I recall seeing any sign of was Warner Hot Springs. Nice scenic drive though, pretty country in a stark kinda way- quite a contrast to the lush pacific northwest where I've lived for 20 years. Lots more oportunity for little airstrips & off-airport ops than the heavily forested areas around here.
