Phat tires - Appreciation of a Swingle masterpiece

A user posted this classic in another thread, and I was again reminded of the genius that is Swingle. No one can even compare.

Had seen that way back and I agree Zane, He is off the charts talented in many ways.
Haven’t seen nothing from him in awhile . I guess that was him I saw playing at the Osh. STOL demo.
Would love to see him get after some more videos.

Greg is one of the most reserved, polite, and pleasant dudes you’ll ever come across as well as being a fantastic guest and Janelle is a total sweetheart. I too miss his work. Maybe we can guilt him into a comeback tour[emoji1]

I believe Greg was asked to “cool it” with the direction some of his videos where taking by uhh, some higher powers.

Sadly, thus they stopped.

Or, it could have been just a bad rumour on the dark net.

My favorite was "It's a RANS, Man!" which has been unavailable for some time.

Re: Phat tires - Appreciation of a Swingle masterpiece

Yup, Swingle changed my life. Mainly in that I will probably never get all the dog hair out of my car after his last visit. But he is also probably partly responsible for me getting a rickety S7 and flying it most every day since 2012, putting almost 1,600 hrs on it since then, landing in exactly 3,243,683 off airport spots, being reported to the FAA, spending time with Pablo Escobar, and being recognized almost daily on the streets for appearing in a few of his videos.

Had dinner with him and John Graham (Patrol guy) and their wives when I stayed the night at Johns house on my way back from my 7500 mile cross country back in May. All good folks

Greg's vids are THE reason I am hear and THE reason I bought a plane. His talent in producing an educational and/or highly entertaining, and as above often ROTFLMAO hilarious video is a gift that we will note likely see from any other source any time soon. I think he got more than a little bummed when some of his camera equipment got stolen; kinda put a bad taste in his mouth I guess. I for one wish he was back at it but also understand that doing so takes lots of time and a significant amount of money. In summary his talent is just missed by a lot of folks.

Not so sure that's exactly true...

He got burned out and it takes a lot of time.

Between he and Trents videos they are promoting backcountry flying like nobody else can. He will be making a comeback I'm certain. I foresee Palmer vs Swingle video wars! How lucky are we...

Re: Phat tires - Appreciation of a Swingle masterpiece

I am still praying ABW does NOT come out with a 31", or God forbid, a 35" Airstreak tire, as I will HAVE to buy a pair. I don't really need the weight carrying capacity of the standard 31's and 35's with a plane like the S-7, thus the Airstreaks to start with, but I'd bet if they made them even bigger there'd be fools lined up to buy them, and I'd be in the front of the line.

Good to see "Phat" again, even funnier the third time around!
