Photo Thread Fall Color Tour/ David Jaranson Memorial Flight

Fall Color weekend started with Tessy and I overnighting at Lori and Brians in Floodwood MN. A trail ride and fresh shrimp ended the cool evening. A hard freeze met us Saturday am as we departed for Two Harbors and the North Shore of Lake Superior. Next, a beautiful flight to Anderson strip for lunch. Then Jaranson strip. It was a wonderful way to remember David. His passion for aviation and the outdoors was flowing in all of us. We are very fortunate to enjoy the freedom we have. Thanks everyone for the food and lodging and making this weekend extra special. Jack and I closed saturday with a few grouse to cap it all off...

Twas a beautiful day for flying, LOTS of great airplanes (and it was decidedly NOT a "taildragger" flyin), great company, and good food.
Anderson's and Jaranson's strips are both great airstrips, and wouldn't it be wonderful to live on a place like that?

Thanks to all for the hospitality.

Thanks, Scout for the photos. I'll use that to prove to Gina that every once in a while I can actually land a plane....

MTV,
Yes, I know it was "decidedly NOT a 'taildragger' flyin"...It was just an attempt at humor. It was me flying the 172.
It was a great time with great people. Sorry I didn't introduce myself....just seemed to get caught up in the moment and had my attention on trying to make sure my passenger was doing okay the entire flight.

Great pictures! Saw that Brian made it. Keith, not flying the tailwheel? Those pictures of fall in the north country really make me home sick, hope to get this harvest thing done in a couple of weeks, so I can get back home to let the Golden chase some of those grouse. Steve

Steve,
It was a great time. Maybe next year you should try to attend. I ended up taking the 172 due to the high winds and the fact that I had a cousin up visiting due to a family funeral. She expressed interest in flying along and I felt the heavier 172 would give a better ride to a new person to general aviation. Glad I did, I think several people ended up with "green" passengers due to rough air. She took it in stride though,:)
