Photo thread: Out the window

Some guys on another website that I frequent started a thread of photos shot out the window of planes. It turns out I have a lot of these, as many of you do I'm sure. if you got em, post em.

Only photos shot from inside an airplane, please.

Headed home from visiting Steve's Aircraft @ Beagle.

Yes, it was me.

Re: Photo thread: Out the window

Norm, some of us were chatting about Shaun the other night and were wondering if you ever decided to get a book published with Shaun's photos?

Yes, it's nearing completion. I was just talking w my daughter today who is spearheading the project. I should be able to put up some info in the next couple of months about the particulars. Thanks for asking.

Thanks Norm, I'm glad to hear that. I mentioned it the other night and most people said they'd buy it if it were to exist. I look forward to seeing it. I hope you all are doing well.

Kevbert, are you on TGR by any chance? A guy there posted the exact same photo from Twilight Zone the Movie. That short story of the wing monster scared the crap out of me as a kid.

Great shots of Shaun's, Norm. Thanks.

Not me, Z. I'd never heard of TGR until just now. It looks like a pretty good site!

Norm, I've been looking at Shaun's images for a few years now. They are a treasure. My thanks go to those who are keeping the site up. You have my deepest sympathies for your loss.

I had a little sister that passed away a couple of years ago. Typing this message reminded me again that she was gone. It also reminded me of the time she looked out the window (after seeing TZ the movie) and screamed "There's a man out on the wing!" Every passenger had to look! She is gone, but not forgotten.

Re: Photo thread: Out the window

Kevbert, I'm really sorry about your little sister. It just isn't right that people have to leave this world when they're so young!

The typepad site administrators contacted us soon after learning of Shaun's death and said they would move it to a "free" status. Even if they didn't I would pay the $15 or $20 a month to keep it up. Since the site still attracts quite a few visitors I think they are able to generate a little advertising revenue from that so it all works out.

Some great pix have been posted so far in this thread ... looking forward to seeing more.

Norm,
Please keep us posted on the the book of Shauns Photos. I would be very interested in one if you sell them.

Thanks,

Re: Photo thread: Out the window

Photos taken out the window of an aircraft can be very interesting pictures. They give perspective that only flyers and birds can get. Those posted here are all interesting and a couple are very beautiful too. This is one of my favorites that I took of a forest fire in the Huachuca Mountains in southeast Arizona. It is very "Interesting" to me.

Nice shots, Once&Future. I am really drawn to those cloud shadows on the ground, I think it's one of the most photogenic things we see from the cockpit.
