I'm in El Paso and was wondering if anyone knows of a runway within walking distance of fishing opportunities? Posted on NM pilots with no results. Yes, willing to land at back country strips.
Thanks, Dave Rains

If you can stomach 'touristy' for a decent trout fishery you might fly in to 1V0 for a weekend of casting on the Juan. It's a steep and lengthy 'walk' but alternatively you could call fisheads get a ride, room, and a decent meal.
Take care,
Rob

There's world class fishing on the San Juan river below Navajo Dam. (4 Corners Area)
You can fly into 1V0 Navajo Lake and get picked up by a guide and have a great time.
My high school buddy is a professional fishing guide there and has picked up many clients at 1V0.

Following... How far north you willing to fly? Morning Shadows up in the San Louis valley of CO is the headwaters of the Rio Grande and has good fishing as does places along the Arkansas.
I work in El Paso two weeks on/off and have a hangar at KELP for my 180. We should prolly know each other.

Perhaps. I have 3 adjacent T-hangars containing my C175, Skyarrow 600, and C170A I'm restoring. Chapter 125 Young Eagles rep, and general retired sloth. Im willing to fly as far as my wife lets me

Look for me in M-2. Although my home is in Colorado, I'm flying again finally after my 180 was down for nearly 2 years getting a new engine and goodies. Now that cooler weather is here, I'll likely be commuting down for my 14 day turns flying medevac over in Alpine. I go back to Colorado on the 20th.
Lemme know what you find in NM.
