Pledge New Formula Doesn't Work

Sad news for those of us that have grown accustomed to using Lemon Pledge on our aircrafts windscreen for easy bug removal and sleeking off rain.

The new formula Pledge does not work like the old formula. If you read the contents it is now mainly lemon oil with absolutely no wax. The old formula had wax.

The new formula still removes bugs fairly well but when you test it's ability slicking water it fails miserably. So if your using the new formula and get caught in the rain, don't expect to have any forward visibility unless you stick your head out the side window.

Good news is I have found a cheap alternative. It's called Kleen Guard and has a mix of lemon oil and wax much like the old formula Pledge. Works great for cleaning bugs off the windscreen and leading edges and slicks water really well. The best part is it's readily available at your local KMART and only costs $1.20 something a can.

Just an aerosol can, or does it come in a pump bottle? Can't argue with $1.20 no matter what it's packaged in, and it works. Using up my last pump bottle of Lemon Pledge right now.

Strata,

The Kleen Guard comes in a aerosol can and is stocked right next to the Pledge at Kmart.

I have been using it on the nose cowl, spinner, windows and leading edges. It works great and has that nice lemon smell.

Like everything else that works good it will probably be discontinued. I went back and cleaned out the present stock at our local store for about ten bucks.
