Pops made Flying magazine

One of Pops videos caught the attention of Flying magazine online.

Gotta love the comments section. Buncha dipshits running the gamut from, "it's got to be fake" to "how could anyone be that reckless in an airplane." I tried to bite my tongue and not say anything but I did. But I was polite. Sort of...

That's awesome, I actually had someone pass me that utube link a week or so ago. Apparently it made the rounds with a group in Washington state who were super impressed. Quite the landing

I liked this one: "do you think he meant to land, or just mis-judged the ridge" #-o :? Hopefully the guy who made this comment isn't a pilot...

Re: Pops made Flying magazine

Great video Gump. I also had fun reading the comments. The airline pilot saying there are NO OLD, BOLD PILOTS. And the many others, just seems to prove that the majority of pilots out there really don't grasp the fun that comes with the flying we do.

I for one take some comfort in the fact that most of those Nancys making the disenting comments will stick to their paved runways. You're right, they have no idea of the skill set required...nor how much fun it is. My opinion, Pops has more skill and common sense in his little finger than the lot of them together.

Re: Pops made Flying magazine

Yes, read ALL the comments: suicidal, computer simulated (like the moon landing), can't be old because he's so bold (!), he accidentally ran into the ridge, a total incompetent and more! I was laughing like a bastard halfway through....some got it, most didn't. The part I don't get is the comments on the takeoff, how any pilot doesn't get that a steep takeoff is easy and safe, I don't understand. Like taking off on level ground is safer?? So taking off uphill would be safer yet? Good stuff =D>

Re: Pops made Flying magazine

Prettty darn impressive, that is a man that is truely one with his machine. As for being bold, bold is a function of skill level... his bold and my bold are two different things altogether.

Yeah, I was just going to post that one. Cracked me up. Since he knew enough to comment on judging ridges I assumed he was being pithy. :-)

Re: Pops made Flying magazine

I had to comment. Just couldn't resist. I'm the one who ended with "you file your flight plan and we'll file ours."

They are one reason I can't stand to be around pilots. :-)

Judgemental sacks of shit. :-)

(yes, that was humor)

I see they also have the video of the double ender jumping off ledge towards a glacier.
I have real slow net so could not look at it again or see the comments!!

Re: Pops made Flying magazine

I got a good chuckle out of the comments... Gump, you held back LOL So did Rob and that kinda shocked me! Poor pavement pounders don't know what flying is all about. Sadly, they will never have the lust for flying that some of us do.
