Re: Pops makes the Big Times!!

I'd like to say I knew Pops before he was famous, but he's always been famous as far as I'm concerned--the rest of the world just didn't know about him yet! =D>

P.S. If it was truly the "Smartbrief," they'd also include a disclaimer that said "Don't think you can fly as good as this guy, because you can't."

That's great, congrats again. I also love the picture of the cub with tandem wheels. Never seen that in real life but it looks awesome. Get a dual set of 35's, if you could actually get it off the ground, it'd truly run over anything.

This is awesome! I was looking at the video and his views went from 200K to 400+K in a month or so. Pops, I hope you have those things monetized!

I've made zero roll touchdowns in a 90hp Champ and C-150 in strong headwinds and crosswinds on level ground, but the turn here to keep from catching the left wing was artful. If he had a strong left crosswind and finally headwind just before touchdown, he was below the declination line. Again, very artful.

Funny how stuff goes viral and it's a juggernaut all its own. Pops uploaded that video over 4 years ago.

"Artful", yeah, that'll work =D>

I'm more impressed with the T-Craft landing Pops made at, what was it.....13K?? No video but I remember the pic. With 65 horse. No flaps. No electric starter. No brakes. OK, ALMOST no brakes (T-Craft joke), I'll bet that as a personal best, he'd put that near the top, pun intended.

I got to 13,500 once in ridge lift in a Taylorcraft DC-65, but didn't land. The bad mechanical brakes were to keep from going on your nose.

Pops' video is embedded this morning on a fairly major political website I look at every day. Won't be long before they're knocking at his door for interviews...

I think we should design a new emoticon in Pops' honor. It would be this one, but with a fedora and a great mustache. 8)

Our C206 guys could have done that and unloaded 4 hunters, 1000lbs of camping gear and a snowmobile : )

Re: Pops makes the Big Times!!

I first saw this video 3ish years ago just before discovering and becoming an addict to the BCP community. I can remember being absolutely floored when I learned that this dude is an actual human (sort of) that real people know !! Pops I hope to meet you some day although from the looks of it I may have to stand in a long line after paying for a ticket #-o
