Possibly moving to NC

Not necessarily information about airstrips or airports, but more general info about a greater area or a route of flight.

You bet. I almost forgot to mention. My Step-Sister lives in Sanford. Her and her family absolutely love that town. There is an airport in Sanford, too.

58 your talking about Long Island air park! I was just at their fly in this past weekend. Great place with great people I live just off the lake on the mooresville troutman line. The northern part of the lake is definitely less populated than the southern end.
They had some great T6 Texans show up at the fly in

Anyone here from the Austin area? Been considering that area of Tx. Would like to hear ideas as to where to live and specially, airports!

If you like BBQ. I highly recommend a visit to Stubbs BBQ in downtown Austin.

Except for the atmosphere, don't waste your time on Salt Lick BBQ. I thought it was overrated and not so good!

Have a good trip. Austin is pretty nice. I really liked the choice of restaurants downtown and I mostly liked the western area's better. The new race track (Curcuit of the Americas) east of town is pretty awesome!

Re: Possibly moving to NC

Thanks Phil. We'll give that place a try. I know Austin pretty well because our daughter goes to school there. And, that's one of the reasons my wife and I are considering moving there. What we're looking for in a place to live are:

1) Warm weather (or not too cold. We're tropical birds) Not So. FL or SW US
2) Good flying weather
3) Reasonably priced hangar space
4) Close to small, friendly airport
5) Reasonably close to a major international airport (HOU, DFW, LAX, SFO)
6) Liberal gun laws (where crime is lowest)
7) Close to the ocean (I'm a cruiser/sailor)

So, although the Austin area makes sense so we can be close to our daughter, I'm up for suggestions.

Re: Possibly moving to NC

Let me get this straight. These are fuel prices, and the colors are for Wx conditions on that day or an average?

Re: Possibly moving to NC

The colors are just a visual indication of fuel price ranges. Nothing to do with weather.

Re: Possibly moving to NC

From Foreflight: Fuel prices - prices for 100LL or JetA fuel. Fuel prices are color coded by price -
less expensive prices are in green, average in orange, most expensive in red.
Colors are assigned based on the region in which the airport sits in order to avoid
marking an inexpensive California price as expensive when compared to Texas.
