Pretty Good Cessna Flying

The stunt pilot is executing some pretty decent maneuvers for a Cessna. The acting is terrible. Interesting racing technique, battling for the finish line with full flaps

Re: Pretty Good Cessna Flying

So this was 150 vs dirt bike? I would have flown high, kept the airshow smoke off, landed full flaps, parked it and had a beer waiting for motocross dude when he got there.

Re: Pretty Good Cessna Flying

What you have stumbled upon is the best worst aviation scene of all time. It's from the original "Iron Eagle".

The rest of the movie isn't much better.

The only redeeming value of that scene is that we get to see Art Scholl do some pretty cool things with an Aerobat before he was killed filming the spin scene for Top Gun.

Cool head gear and goggles on the black guy. Also liked the retractable nose gear on the Cessna.

Re: Pretty Good Cessna Flying

I like how hardly anyone is replying to this thread when many of us probably thought that this was an awesome movie when we were 15. For those that are too young to remember or those that still want us to believe that you have never watched ALL the Iron Eagle movies here are some spoilers:
If you think the kid in the Aerobat won't make it far in life if he keeps missing a loose oil cap on his pre-flight you are wrong. In Iron Eagle II he is a U.S. Air Force pilot flying an F-16. But soon he screws up and gets himself shot down by the Soviets and is presumed dead. But in Iron Eagle IV we find out he did in fact survive and is alive and well. I don't want to give it all away but have you ever wanted to find out if you can fire a Maverick missile from your F-16 when it is sitting on the ground? Or have you wondered if your Sony Walkman will still play a cassette during a 9G pull in an F-16? Watch the Iron Eagle movies and find out the answers.

Re: Pretty Good Cessna Flying

I'll admit it, I LOVED that movie when I was younger

After becoming a pilot and watching it later in life, though....my how my view changed!! It hurts too much to laugh #-o

When I was young I didn't pay much attention to loose oil caps and flap down racing techniques
And I loved how all it took was a loop to get behind his enemy and shoot him down!!

There's more than one??

I just remember the one where they stole the jets and got a better fuel burn by playing music!

He must have been an early terrorist trainee. He learned to fly but never bothered to learn how to land. So corny it makes Hee Haw seem like a documentary. Dukes of Hazard, Knight Rider, Hardcastle and McCormick, The A team, The Fall Guy, man those were the days. Kids don't learn anything anymore.

Cool. No need to watch it on Netflix then.

I'll watch Air America over and over.
