Sorry for the quality of the photos, but I think you will get the idea.. Many years ago, I was a Prop Repairman and this is one of the Propellers that came in the shop. (I saw numerous propellers similar to this)
I never asked what happened, I didn't feel it was necessary. I assumed the "incident" occurred somewhere in Eastern Montana.
I was actually able to fix the prop pictured. I had 4 1/2 hours in the repair, including cutting it back, straightening and adjusting the angles and regrinding it. It was a legal fix at 78 1/2 inches, and looked and functioned as new.
One can only assume a new synchronization box was installed, the lead angle was adjusted, or it was business as usual with the diminished arc....
