"Put On My Water Wing's And Flew To L. Powell"

Put on my water wing's and flew down to Lake Powell in the floatplane with my son Tayson! It was a beautiful day on lake Powell, it felt like 80 degrees in the the sun, but the outside air temp. was indicating in the low 60's! We didn't see a boat or airplane all day on the lake while we were there, so we had the lake all to are selves!

Looking for a nice place to beach in Lake Powell!

Lake Powell is a photographers paradise in my opinion! Navajo Mountain with the snow on it in the back ground in the picture!

It was a fun day trip leaving from the Salt Lake City area crossing over the Wasatch Mountains then on down over Capitol Reef National Park area to Lake Powell and back!

Nice! I live in Phoenix and really want to 'justify' an amphib plane.

I checked into it once, and as far as I can remember, it's perfectly legal to land float planes on lake Powell. It's listed in Utah as a amphibious base, or whatever the terminology is. But land 100 ft off the water on the shore, and you're in big trouble.

I've dragged my boat to Powell 9 times, and twice rented a houseboat. Great place!

Great shots James!

I hit Bear Lake again last week, a little different now then when we were down there  The water was much harder then Lake Powell. It was pretty fun though going from water skiing to ice skating to snow skiing all within a few seconds!Image

Re: "Put On My Water Wing's And Flew To L. Powell"

The National Recreation Area, which covers most of the Colorado river drainage has just a few minor restrictions on seaplanes operations without going into any details on it.Tom, most of the lakes and reserviors around here are either frozen or to cold to land on without having icing problems on the floats, so I have been going south, where it's warmer. That sounds like a lot of fun on skis going from water to snow or vise-versa! We will have to meet-up again at Bear Lake when it warms up a little!
