R172K High Alt performance charts

Hello,

I am trying to get high altitude take off performance charts for a Cessna R172K.
I flew my plane down to south america and am having trouble with the local agency when flying at airports above 8K feet.
I have the 210 HP STC and Sportsman STOL cuff, no trouble with those airfields.
The local agency thinks that the take off performance charts in the POH that only go to 8K ARE the limit for take off on the aircraft. Spoke with Cessna and could not get much help from them.

If anyone knows how I can get a hold of some, I would be thankful

You're sure it's performance figures you need to get back flying, and not a wad of U.S. greenbacks?

Re: R172K High Alt performance charts

I plan on keeping the plane here and I will be operating out of a 9.5K feet runway some times.
that is the best way to get them off my back.
I have tried the green way.. no luck.

Roger that. I'm sitting here sharing your predicament with two friends who spend a lot of time there- one just returned a week ago. They feel your pain.

Best of luck.

Re: R172K High Alt performance charts

Have you tried The Koch Chart?
The version I know is in the Canadian Flight supplement (CFS), page C11 in the planning section.
It is also available on-line at http://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/libv ... px?id=6847
The chart is a nomogram giving percent change in takeoff distance and climb rate with airport pressure altitude and temperature. The scale goes up to 16,000' but it needs to be very cold to intersect the nomogram axis.

The chart has the advantage for your application of coming as part of a Govt. publication.

I fly T-41Cs at my military aero club, they are R172s with 210hp, IO-360s in them. I've got an ecopy of the POH if you think it'll help you, PM me your email address.

I wonder if you could just drum up something with the appropriate information on your computer that would satisfy them, and print it out. Maybe have it laminated or somehow make it look like official. Like you said, the airplane works fine- it's just the paperwork that coming up short.

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!

Re: R172K High Alt performance charts

I will do exactly what you are suggesting, it is scary looking at that chart. I guess those numbers are very conservative.
